Van - Tehran train services begin - 10.03.2025

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that the Van-Tehran passenger train will depart from Tehran today.

Minister Uraloğlu announced that the Van-Tehran passenger train has resumed its services as a result of talks with Iran Railways. Minister Uraloğlu made a written statement on the subject, saying, “Railway cooperation between Turkey and Iran is of great importance in terms of strengthening regional transportation and increasing tourism activity. The resumption of the Van-Tehran train will further strengthen both economic and cultural ties.”

The train, which will be operated by the Iran Passenger Transport Company (RAJA), will consist of 7 couchette cars with a capacity of 40 people and will make two round trips per week. Stating that the train in question will depart from Tehran today and will depart from Van to Tehran on Monday, March 10, Uraloğlu said, “The Van-Tehran Passenger Train will depart from Tehran on Sundays and Wednesdays and from Van on Mondays and Thursdays. Our passengers will have a pleasant 22-hour journey in the comfort of the railway.”
