Turkey Becomes the Fourth Most Visited Country
28.05.2025

Turkey hosted 62.2 million tourists in 2024, becoming the fourth most visited country in the world after France, Spain, and the USA.
According to the report presented under the title "The New Leader of Global Competition in Tourism: Turkey" and using data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), Turkey hosted 62.2 million tourists in 2024, becoming the fourth most visited country in the world after France, Spain, and the USA.
In the same period, Turkey, whose tourism revenue increased by 8.3 percent to 61 billion dollars, aims to exceed 70 million tourists and 70 billion dollars this year.
When compared to European countries, Turkey stands out in the "price-performance" category. While the average hotel occupancy rate in Türkiye is 70.4 percent, the average room price per night is 118 dollars, approximately 25 percent below countries such as Italy and France. Despite this price difference, service quality is kept high, turning this situation into an advantage. According to online travel platforms TripAdvisor and Booking.com, Turkey is above the European average in guest satisfaction with a score of 8.4.
OteliniSat.com General Manager Esen Çoban also stated that Türkiye is defined as a country that is showcased globally with its nature and history as well as its data in tourism economy.

Çoban emphasized that with this report, they wanted to show that the tourism infrastructure extending from Istanbul to Bodrum, Antalya to Izmir has transformed into a strong economic ecosystem, and noted that they will continue such research and reports to explain Türkiye's tourism and hotel potential to global investors with the right language and data.
