The International Yörük Türkmen Festival, organized by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality for the 4th time this year, hosted great enthusiasm on its second day. The festival area in Düzlerçamı Karaman Picnic Area was the scene of colorful scenes, while the horse acrobatic shows were breathtaking. Visitors had the opportunity to see the almost forgotten lives of the Yörüks up close. Mayor Muhittin Böcek also met with citizens in the festival area throughout the day.

The second day of the 4th International Antalya Yörük Türkmen Festival was also full of events. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek visited the festival area and chatted with the participants and visitors. The festival, which featured colorful events throughout the day, brought all aspects of Yörük culture to life, from ancestral sports to handicrafts, local dishes to folk dances and concerts. Horseback archery, sword and acrobatics shows were also watched with interest. The athletes performing on horseback were breathtaking. The audience supported the athletes performing acrobatics with their applause.

Mayor Böcek Toured the Festival Area

Antalya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Muhittin Böcek also hosted his guests in his tent throughout the day, not leaving the participants and visitors alone. Mayor Muhittin Böcek, who toured the guest country tents participating in the festival, thanked the countries, municipalities and associations that participated in and supported the 4th International Yörük Türkmen Festival. Foreign guests introduced their local dishes to Mayor Muhittin Böcek. Foreign guests, who gave Mayor Muhittin Böcek various gifts, presented sections from their local dances. President Muhittin Böcek also visited the stands of the associations and municipalities participating in the Yörük Türkmen and thanked them for their participation.

Activities Throughout the Day

The festival introduced all aspects of Yörük culture and also kept alive traditional handicrafts such as bellows boot making, carpet weaving, kilim weaving and wool spinning. Yörüks also offered their own dishes such as keşkek and pişi to the visitors. Guest country participants in their tents wearing colorful local costumes attracted great attention. Stage events also added a different color to the festival throughout the day. Concerts by local artists and folk dance performances by teams from home and abroad were watched with interest and enthusiasm.
