March holiday in Russia moved to May and June - 10.03.2025
With official holidays falling on weekends this year in Russia and the resulting extra days off being transferred to June, Russians are in for a long vacation.
Chairman of the Russian State Duma Labor Committee Yaroslav Nilov announced to RIA Novosti that as a result of this arrangement, citizens will have two four-day holidays - from May 8 to 11 and from June 12 to 15.
According to information provided by Nilov, the extra days off that arose due to the official holidays of February 23 falling on Sunday and March 8 falling on Saturday this year were transferred to other dates. Nilov reminded that with this practice, which is within the authority of the government, the balance between work and holiday days is maintained, and that no changes were made to the total number of days off.
According to the news in TürkRus , those living in Russia will thus be able to have four uninterrupted days of vacation in May between May 8-11 and in June between June 12-15. Nilov added that making the vacations consecutive will create a resting opportunity for citizens and that the government regularly carries out such vacation transfers every year.
