KITUYAD Holds Season Evaluation Meeting

Members of the Kızılağaç Tourism Investors and Operators Association (KITUYAD), which continues its activities in the Kızılağaç tourism center, held their second meeting of the season at Selge Beach Resort & Spa, having held the first in April.

The meeting, whose opening speech was delivered by the association's Honorary President Zekai Aydın, discussed the region's problems and proposed solutions. President Osman Ergin also shared information about environmental, Blue Flag, and awareness-raising activities held throughout the year, events integrating tourism and sports, and international events planned to be held in the region in future periods, all of which are funded by grants, without creating a financial burden for the association.

In addition to their regular General Assembly meetings, the Kızılağaç Tourism Investors and Operators Association members meet periodically throughout the year to exchange views. Their first meeting of 2025 was held in April, where they held a meeting outlining their predictions for the 2025 season. A season assessment was conducted.

Following the first meeting held at the beginning of the season due to the busy schedule and the busy agenda, members reconvened for the second meeting of the 2025 season. Based on the forecasts made at the beginning of the season, they expressed their opinions on the current state of regional tourism, the problems encountered, and proposed solutions.

The meeting emphasized that economic, political, and social developments globally, in the region, in Turkey, Antalya, and Manavgat directly negatively impact all facilities, investors, and operators. Furthermore, the gap between costs and revenues is gradually closing, significantly decreasing profitability.

Serving Turkish Tourism with 38,000 Bed Capacity

The Kızılağaç Tourism Center, serving Turkish tourism with 15 facilities and 38,000 bed capacity in eastern Manavgat, provided 12 months of support to the Manavgat economy through winter tourism during the periods before the plane crisis and the war between Russia and Ukraine. The short season and the expense of keeping hotels open during the winter also raised the issue of future aspirations.

The meeting also addressed the recently emerging issue of security, emphasizing the need for meticulous, real-time, and continuous monitoring of KBS systems. It was emphasized that while hotels' consistent collaboration in pest control reduces the problem during the summer months, it does not completely eliminate it. It was also emphasized that local residents should also be made aware of this issue, and that reporting is being done in collaboration with the neighborhood headman.

The surveys, which particularly reflect the negative impact on the region, indicate that shopkeepers in market centers: The following were also discussed: courteous demeanor and behavior in one-on-one guest interactions.

Attention to landscaping and environmental cleanliness, not only in the hotel area but also in the village and surrounding areas.

Recent developments regarding the rehabilitation of the Nifrit Stream by the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ) and the current status of water wells.

Routine electricity and water outages due to inadequate infrastructure.

Intense and unplanned inspections and difficulties encountered during these inspections following the Bolu Hotel fire.

Incompatibility with fire door procurement and companies' TSE Compliance Certificates.

The ongoing difficulties experienced during the season in personnel supply due to transportation and housing issues, which will likely lead to a crisis in future periods, were also discussed.

It was stated that the region has been carrying out Blue Flag and Environmental Activities within the scope of sustainable tourism for years using its own resources and that this will continue in future periods. It was also stated that cooperation with Türçev, local schools, and the neighborhood headman's office continues on this matter.

Following the second preliminary informational meeting held due to the busy 2025 tourism season, The members of Kıtuyad, who will determine the time and place for the third meeting, which will be held with a high level of participation, including the Kızılot hotels, posed for the cameras together at the end of the meeting.
