Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu announced that Istanbul Airport is once again the busiest airport in Europe, with an average of 1,624 daily flights.
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Abdulkadir Uraloğlu evaluated the European Aviation Outlook Report of the European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation (EUROCONTROL).
Minister Uraloğlu stated that in the report covering the period September 1-7, 2025, Turkey ranked 6th among the countries with the busiest traffic volume in Europe, with an average of 4,200 daily flights. Uraloğlu noted that Istanbul Airport is once again the busiest airport in Europe, with an average of 1,624 daily flights. He stated, "Istanbul Airport surpassed Amsterdam, Paris Charles de Gaulle, Frankfurt, and London Heathrow. With an average of 1,024 daily flights, Antalya Airport is the 9th busiest airport in Europe."
Uraloğlu also noted that Istanbul Airport, with an average of 821 daily departures between September 1-7, 2025, among 25 global airports, ranks 5th globally.
