The Gastronomy Festival organized by Kartepe Municipality will be held on June 14-15.Speaking at the introductory program held at a restaurant in Dumlupınar Neighborhood, Kartepe Mayor Mustafa Kocaman said that the district should stand out not only with its nature but also with its flavor culture.

Stating that Kartepe continues to keep the Anatolian culture alive, Kocaman noted that they want their richness in gastronomy to stand out in addition to their natural beauties.

Emphasizing that Kartepe hosts many different cuisines, Kocaman said, "We have held many festivals. It is not right to reduce them to just one name because we have the Black Sea culture, Circassian culture, Greengrocer culture, Hungarian culture and Southeastern culture. All of these have very rich gastronomy." Inviting citizens to the festival, Kocaman said, "Let's taste different flavors there and be a part of their production."

Kocaeli University Tourism Faculty Dean Prof. Dr. Emrah Özkul and university students attended the program.

The festival, which will be organized in Kartepe City Square on June 14-15 with the cooperation of Kartepe Municipality and Kocaeli University, will host local food competitions, workshops and stage events.

During the festival, participants will be served haluj, pişi, keşkek, gözleme, yaprak sarma, baklava and çiğ köfte.
