With the protocol signed between Nilüfer Municipality and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Ancient City of Apollonia in Gölyazı will be granted archaeological site status and opened to visitors. A protocol was signed between Nilüfer Municipality and the Bursa Museum Directorate on behalf of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism's General Directorate of Cultural Heritage and Museums to support the excavation and landscaping work in Apollonia Ancient City (Gölyazı Neighborhood) and to grant it archaeological site status.

Within the scope of the protocol signed in order to increase the promotion of the Apollonia Ancient City and Necropolis area and contribute to cultural tourism, the security, cleaning, electricity, and water expenses of the Apollonia Ancient City Necropolis area will be covered by the Nilüfer Municipality. The ancient city area will be granted archaeological site status by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and will be opened to visitors.
