The districts of Bartın's Amasra and Karabük's Safranbolu will offer visitors the opportunity to spend time surrounded by nature and history during the Eid al-Adha holiday.
Amasra and Safranbolu, which stand out with their historical sites and natural beauties, are experiencing a high number of reservations at hotels and guesthouses in the days leading up to the holiday.
Amasra, which attracts the attention of local and foreign tourists with its castle built during the Genoese period, untouched bays, clean beaches, low-wave sea and beauties integrated with nature, as well as its fish-based cuisine, has completed preparations for the holiday.
The occupancy rate in hotels and guesthouses with a capacity of 3,500 beds in the district has reached 80 percent.
"We expect serious crowds during the holiday"
Amasra Culture and Tourism Association President Hüseyin Boran told AA correspondent that the district, which is an important port city with two bays on the Black Sea and which Fatih Sultan Mehmet referred to as "Çeşm-i Cihan - the eye of the world, the apple of his eye", is expecting local and foreign guests during the holiday.
Stating that the district, which has developed its tourism and holiday culture, hosts an increasing number of visitors every year, Boran said, "During the holiday and weekends, the number of daily visitors to our district reaches 50-60 thousand with those staying at hotels. We expect serious crowds during the holiday." Boran stated that preparations have been completed by the municipality, district governor's office, association and related institutions in the district, and explained that those who come to Amasra will be able to see the "sea, sand and sun" trio as well as historical structures and natural beauties with a history of 3 thousand years.
Stating that visitors to the district can visit Amasra Castle, Amasra Museum, excavation sites, Çekiciler Bazaar and participate in daily yacht tours, Boran said, "They can see the waterfalls in our nearby villages and Küre Mountains National Park within our borders. They can also see Safranbolu, which is right next to us. Again, our guests will have the opportunity to feast on fresh fish at fish restaurants. They can also taste Amasra salad, which is made with organic greens grown in our region's vineyards and gardens and prepared with 30 different products."
