
633,527 people visited museums and archaeological sites during the holiday

A total of 633,527 people visited museums and archaeological sites affiliated with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism during the 5-day period covering the Eid al-Adha and the eve of Eid al-Adha.
According to the statement made by the ministry, İzmir Ephesus Archaeological Site ranked first in terms of number of visitors. A total of 56,423 people visited Ephesus.
The Hierapolis (Pamukkale) Archaeological Site in Denizli ranked second with 53,363 visitors.
Nevşehir Göreme stood out among the most popular archaeological sites during the holiday with 24,483 visitors, Şanlıurfa Göbeklitepe with 23,176 visitors, and Nevşehir Paşabağlar with 20,187 visitors.
Among the top 15 archaeological sites and museums are the Olympos, Phaselis and Patara archaeological sites in Antalya, the Galata Tower and Archaeological Museum in Istanbul, the Sumela Monastery in Trabzon, the Ihlara Valley in Aksaray, the Zeugma Mosaic Museum in Gaziantep, and the Kaymakli and Derinkuyu Underground Cities in Nevsehir.

Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy also shared the visitor numbers on his social media account.
Minister Ersoy noted the following: "During the holiday, including the day of Eid, we hosted a total of 633,527 visitors in nearly 200 museums and archaeological sites extending from the east to the west and north to the south of Türkiye. From those who welcomed the sunrise at Nemrut to those who saw off the sunset at Ephesus... We met with culture at every step, history came to life at every step. Our most popular archaeological sites are Ephesus 56,423 people, Hierapolis-Pamukkale 53,363 people, Göreme 24,483 people, Göbeklitepe 23,176 people, Paşabağlar 20,187 people. Thank you Turkey.
