
Turkish Airlines resumed flights to Aleppo

Turkish Airlines, the airline that flies to more countries than any other airline in the world , has resumed its flights to Aleppo , which it suspended in April 2012. 145 passengers traveled on the first flight to Aleppo.
With the addition of Aleppo flights following the Damascus flights that began in January 2025, Turkish Airlines' number of destinations in Syria has increased to two.
Turkish Airlines' flights to Aleppo will operate three times a week between Istanbul Airport and Aleppo International Airport, on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Starting August 19th, flights will be five times a week and daily after September 1st.
With this new route, Turkish Airlines strengthens its transportation network in the region and offers its guests more travel options.
Commenting on the Aleppo flights, Turkish Airlines Head of Sales (Region 2) Mahmut Yayla said, "Aleppo, with its historical and cultural richness, is one of the region's important cities. With the reopening of this route, we aim to strengthen the economic and social ties between our two countries. As Turkish Airlines, we are offering our guests more travel options while also increasing our regional connections. We aim to connect Aleppo to the world via Istanbul. Our flights to Damascus are continuing. We will soon increase this to two flights daily. We will do our best to contribute to Syria's economic, cultural, and social development. We will connect our Syrian brothers and sisters to the world via Istanbul."
Muammer Hakan Cengiz, Turkish Consul General in Aleppo, said, " It is an unparalleled joy to be together in peace and tranquility in Aleppo and for Turkish Airlines flights to begin on such a beautiful day. Aleppo is Syria's gateway to Turkey and the world. Aleppo is Turkey's gateway to Syria and the Middle East. With Turkish Airlines, these doors have been opened from the sky. We wish these flights success and thank everyone involved."
Turkish Airlines offers travel on the Istanbul-Aleppo-Istanbul route starting from $299 with tickets purchased as of July 25, 2025.
