Kepez Carefully Addresses Green Spaces
27.07.2025
Kepez Municipality is implementing a comprehensive maintenance program to protect and maintain the district's green spaces in the face of the scorching summer heat.
Parks and Gardens Department teams have stepped up grass cutting, irrigation, pruning, and general maintenance in parks across Kepez.
Kepez Municipality, operating with an environmentally conscious approach, continues to enrich the district during the summer months with services that protect both nature and its residents. Irrigation systems are actively deployed to prevent plant stress due to increased evaporation and water loss, especially during the summer months. Through meticulous processes such as pruning trees, removing dead branches, and replanting flowers according to seasonal conditions, the natural environment is protected and an aesthetically pleasing appearance is maintained. These efforts contribute to the district's residents' ability to relax and socialize in cool, clean, and tidy environments. Kepez Municipality emphasizes the integral role of green spaces in daily life, carrying out regular cleaning and maintenance of all aspects of its parks, from playgrounds and walking paths to sports fields and seating areas. Areas most affected by hot weather are prioritized throughout the district, and irrigation frequencies are planned accordingly.
Kepez Mayor Mesut Kocagöz, in a statement regarding summer maintenance efforts, emphasized their environmentally conscious approach. Mayor Kocagöz said, “With rising temperatures in the summer months, protecting our green spaces becomes even more crucial. Our teams work diligently in the field. Our goal is to protect both natural habitat and provide healthy environments where our citizens can breathe and relax. With this understanding, we continue our work in green spaces throughout our district.” Mayor Kocagöz also emphasized that protecting green spaces is not only the responsibility of the municipality but also the entire community. He urged citizens to approach the green spaces in parks with sensitivity, saying, “These areas are our shared living spaces. By protecting every tree and flower together, we can make Kepez a more livable place.”
