Kepez Municipality and Merkezefendi Municipality have signed an exemplary cooperation protocol based on an environmentally friendly approach to contribute to feeding stray animals. The protocol was signed between Kepez Mayor Mesut Kocagöz and Merkezefendi Mayor Şeniz Doğan.

Kepez showcased a prime example of inter-municipal solidarity. With the protocol signed between Kepez Municipality and Merkezefendi Municipality, food production machines for feeding stray animals and garbage collection containers will be exchanged. This protocol, which is both animal-friendly and environmentally friendly, was signed between Kepez Mayor Mesut Kocagöz and Merkezefendi Mayor Şeniz Doğan. As part of the protocol, five food production machines manufactured by Merkezefendi Municipality will be delivered to Kepez Municipality. The machines to be delivered include a crusher, a cooking compost machine, a pellet machine, an oven dryer, and a dehumidifier and seasoning machine. All machinery will be delivered to the Kepez Municipality in working order, and the Merkezefendi Municipality will undertake maintenance of this equipment for one year. In exchange for the machinery, which will enable more food production for street animals, the Kepez Municipality will deliver 110 garbage containers it has produced to the Merkezefendi Municipality. The containers will have a capacity of 750 liters, with a 200-millimeter metal sheet metal cover and body. Additionally, the containers will have four wheels, each capable of rotating 360 degrees, and the wheels will be welded to the body using 4-millimeter metal sheet metal.

Following the protocol, the mayors expressed their satisfaction with the cooperation.

Kepez Mayor Mesut Kocagöz said, “Both municipalities strive to be productive municipalities… As Kepez Municipality, we produce many things. We produce containers, we produce food. How do we produce them? Today, we've improved this with the machinery we purchased from Merkezefendi Municipality. We're trying to produce many products ourselves. We're trying not to spend too much money abroad and to turn the taxes entrusted to us by our nation into services for our people. I was very happy with our mayor's visit. I thank him very much. May he have a safe journey.” Merkezefendi Mayor Şeniz Doğan said, “Today, we signed a wonderful protocol with Kepez Mayor Mesut Kocagöz. Our mayor holds great value and worth in our hearts. After 30 years, he has given us this sense of pride and happiness. We have a food production machine. We have food for our stray animals. We received a garbage container from Mayor Mesut, and we gave them our product in return. It was an exchange, a wonderful exchange. This is very valuable to us. I would like to thank our mayor for his friendly demeanor and for his cooperation. May he have good luck. I want to reiterate that our love and support are with Mayor Mesut and Kepez.”

This collaboration between the two municipalities aims to both provide solutions to the feeding needs of stray animals and to promote environmentally friendly practices.
